Fashion trends are difficult to follow these days and it’s widely believed that they primarily exist just to sell clothes. Some people believe that we shouldn’t follow them and that we should dress in what we like and feel comfortable in. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Fashion trends are changing regularly on daily basis, and latest clothing styles come into existence mainly through prominent faces who often wear new styles in endorsements to promote them. As select clothing styles are hard to follow, therefore, some opine that it is not mandatory to follow upcoming trends, and recommend personal choice for dressing. I am completely inclined towards this viewpoint, and will give reasons to support my stand in forthcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, there are diverse clothing styles available in the global market today, and people buy the stuff which suits their personality. This stuff includes shoes design, clothing style and even hairstyle. Therefore, if anything new releases, and that is contradicting individual’s personal choice then that person is eventually going to ignore that latest fashion piece. Moreover, it is seen that people feel more conscious when they wear something out of their comfort zone like some girls might feel comfortable in short dresses but others may feel uncomfortable, and spend whole day being conscious. Thus, it can seen that people feel more comfortable when they wear something as per their liking.
Secondly, companies sell latest tending clothes at much higher prices to gain more profit out of new business release. Thus, making it difficult to buy for average earning person, and cope up with latest fashion trends. Also, In many countries people choose clothings as per function or place where they are going. For instance, people prefer to be in formal attire during official meetings whereas they wear traditional dresses during marriage functions. Thus, price and occasion are two main attributes behind person’s choice for dressing.
To conclude, above discussion clearly proves that people feel more comfortable when they wear something of their liking, and which suits their personality. Therefore, it is right to opine that people should follow their personal choice over latest trends.
