Many times we make mistakes in life as it is a part of human nature to make errors and eventually learn lessons from them. It’s always a good gesture and reflects people’s good behaviour when they feel sorry for making any mistakes. Here I will talk about a time when one of my family members made a mistake and apologized to me for it.
Last year in the month of November, my father gifted a brand new car to me. Although i had also saved some money to buy one for myself but he surprised me by gifting it all by himself. It is grey-coloured Baleno, top model, from NEXA motors. I was over the moon and overwhelmed as my father continues to pamper me even after my marriage and although I am not his responsibility anymore. My in laws as well as neighbours were taken aback.
So some days later, my brother-in-law asked me if he could take my car for a ride with his friends and also said that he would get it washed on his way back. I happily agreed and handed over the car keys to him. After about an hour, I got a call from him and he was literally panting and I could hear him breathing heavily over the phone. He nervously told me that he had met with a minor accident and that the right front door of the car had gotten scratched as a motorcycle coming from the wrong direction hit the car. I got so furious and started shouting at him. My brother-in-law got so embarrassed and tried convincing me that he had taken Rs 5000 on the spot from the bicycle owner and would get the damage fixed by himself. Although my dad got the car insured while he bought it, I did not want to claim insurance for minor damage as it reduces the overall credit value of the insurance.
When he came home after leaving the car at the service station, he felt sorry but I refused to speak to him and left for my room. He texted me too that night but I did not respond. After 2 days, he finally brought the car back home in pristine condition and I heaved a sigh of relief on seeing it. Actually, it means a lot to me because it is a token of love from my father. He also gave me a box of chocolates and again apologized to me. I was not angry anymore and accepted his apology however I told him to be more careful with his driving in the future. So this was a time when someone apologized to me for making a mistake.
