These days, mobile phones and the internet are very important to the ways in which people relate to one another socially.
Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?
Social interactions via smartphones and internet have taken the present generation into an altogether different virtual world. This transformation in communication process has been advantageous as more business opportunities have begun to surface and people have been able to foster long forgone bonds, however, their self-identity sometimes becomes confusing in the process.
Businesses across the world have been able to benefit a lot and prosper financially via Internet. The companies which were mere startups about a decade ago have ended up being the multibillion-dollar empires. Facebook, for example, began in a University dorm, and it has been able to not only connect the whole world on Social Media but also became one of the richest platforms too. Same goes for Amazon, which is the largest and wealthiest organization in the world.
Various applications on the internet have made it possible for people to connect from far off distances even. Old friends, long lost loved ones or even siblings separated during the war have been reunited via these apps. Moreover, fundraising and helping people have become an online rage and various posts all over the world continue to flourish. The world is virtually closer. A slight backdrop, however, exists in the form of fake impressing and self-identity crisis. In order to garner more and more likes on the posts and videos, people have somehow compromised with their original self. However, not much harm has been done though.
In the end, it can be concluded that apart from being a bit vulnerable to gather attention on Social Media, the advent of Internet has not only benefitted the Corporations tremendously, but also has managed to bring people closer.
