Here I would like to talk about one of my favourite TV shows that I started watching 5 years ago. Its name is \u201cMy 600-lb life\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a reality television series that has aired on the TLC network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>morbidly<\/strong> <\/span>obese individuals, who begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called &#8220;Where Are They Now?&#8221;, feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes were televised. It stars MD Younan Nowzaradan an Iranian-American surgeon from Houston, under whom patients are placed under observation. He first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient&#8217;s progress may offer <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>gastric<\/strong> <\/span>bypass surgery to further assist in weight loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I started watching this show during the winters of 2015. Actually I used to watch a cookery show named \u201cNigella feasts\u201d which then used to end at 10 p.m. at the weekends. One day I just continued to watch that tv channel even after that cookery show ended and that\u2019s how I came across \u201cMy 600-lb show\u201d. I have been watching this tv series ever since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This shows inspires extremely obese people to lose weight and to maintain fitness. The patients who are filmed in this program are extremely oversized and weigh over 250 kgs. However, every season many of them succeed to lose an <strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">exorbitant<\/span> <\/strong>amount of weight with sheer hard work and dedication. They get to lead normal lives and get rid of several health disorders and limitations that are directly related to obesity. Moreover, they gain back their confidence and once again regain their long lost hope of living a usual life. Sadly 7 patients who were participants in the series have lost their lives since 2013 as they underwent fatal infections, heart failure and neuropathy. One of them named LB Bonner committed suicide in 2018 during the sixth season of the show.
