    (a) The lost child story is a beautiful analysis of child psychology. It is written by R.P. Chadha. A child by nature is very curious about things. He wishes to possess every beautiful, attractive and strange thing in the company of his parents. But when he is away from them, nothing interests or attracts.
    A child goes to see the spring festival with his parents. He sees several shops in the fair. He wants to buy sweet toys and other articles. But his parents refuse to buy him. Anything. After sometime the child departs from his parents. A kind-hearted gentlemen picks him up in his arms. He offers him to buy sweets and He only wants to go to his parents and has no interest.

    “The Refugees” is written by Pearl S. Buck. At the beginning of the story, refuges came to city in great numbers for protection and food. Among them, there was an old man who lost his son and daughter in law in floods. When the could not bear the load he was carrying, he sat down near the noodle stand. A kind man gave him two coins of silver and copper. He purchased a bowl of noodles with copper coin and gave it to his grandchild. Although he was hungry and weak, he did not purchase himself any food. He saved silver coin for the future. He wanted to sow the seeds in the land to avoid starvation in the next year.

    Answer:

    Dr. Abdul Kalam was president of India. He was born in Rameshwaram. His father was devout Muslim. He has his own boats which he rented to local fishermen. Abdul Kalam started his career as a newspaper vendor.
    He grew up in the company of nature. When he was 33, he realized the power of water, that it can be the cause of destruction. In 1964, a cyclonic storm swept away the Pombal bridge and a train load of passengers in it and his native village Shoruniskadi.
    He has written many books. The most notable is his autobiography “Wings of Fire” and another is “Guiding Souls”. Dialogues on the purpose of life reveal his spiritual side.
    He completed his graduation in Aeronautical engineering from Madras Institute of Technology. He is closely associated with the Honey Bee Network and the national innovation Foundation.

    Abraham Lincoln wrote a letter to the head master to teach his son. This letter is a kind of advice to make his son as a perfect man and good human being.
    The child should know that there are different kinds of people in this world, good as well as bad. He should also know that even though this world is full of enemies but behind every enemy there is a friend.
    He should be taught the value of hard labor and should be away from jealousy, He should get the education not only from books but also from the nature. It is honorable to fail in attempt that to cheat others to get successes. He should have faith in himself and deal with people accordingly. He also warns the teacher to make him aware of the people who try to be sweet to him. He should know to judge the people . he should follow his heart.
    In the end of the letter, Abraham Lincoln advises the headmaster to treat his son gently but at the same time, the teachers should also be strict with him because it is only through the tough tests of life that he can be a perfect man.

    Answer:

    The poem is written by William Shakespeare. In this poem, the author says that the world in a stage and all men and women play their parts in this drama. Everyday some are born and some die. One person plays many roles in his whole life. A men’s age is divided into seven parts. First is the infant which cries and pukes, second is the school boy who does not want to go to school, his clothes bright. Third sage is of a lover who always praises this beloved by singing songs. Fourth stage is of soldier who fights for his country. Fifth stage is of a judge whose belly becomes round and he has stern face and accept bribes. He tells worse things to people. In the sixth stage, he becomes old and thin who always carries spectacles and bag the shivers and cries like a child. In the last stage, he becomes near and is like an infant and forgets everything. He is without teeth, eyesight and taste.

    The poet of this poem “a Viewpoint” is R.P. Chadha. In the poem, he stated that India is a gerontocracy and is ruled by old. President, prime minister, ministers are in their seventies. Young is seen nowhere except in long queens or crowd. They are lost in the worries of the availability of things pf daily need. They fight over issues which seem trivial lost are of importance. If people show their disapproval, higher authorities show off their concern but do nothing. Young people are frustrated to such an extent that they indulge even in acts of self in modulation. They just stare upto the higher authorities whether they do something for them or not.
