On a recent holiday you lost a valuable item. Fortunately, you have travel insurance to cover the cost of anything lost.
Write a letter to the manager of your insurance company. In your letter
- Describe the item you lost
- Explain how you lost it
- Tell the insurance company what you would like them to do
Dear Sir,
My name is XYZ and I am writing this letter to claim insurance on baggage which I lost during my holiday trip to Europe.
Last month, I went for a holiday with my husband to Europe, which lasted a fortnight. As per schedule, we started our tour from New Delhi to Paris, and after visiting Milan, Venice, Scotland and Rome, we reached our final destination, England. That is where I lost my baggage which contained some expensive electronics.
It was a grey coloured rectangular leather bag, in which I had kept my brand new Canon DSLR camera worth Rs 2 lacs. It also consisted of a Samsung smart watch and a Remington Hair Straightener which I bought for my sister from Paris. It also had a Giorgio Armani perfume set and some branded new shirts from Hugo Boss that I bought for myself from Venice.
As you are aware, I insured my travel with your company and I had already informed your staff who made a preliminary inquiry on the matter that it was lost when you transported our luggage from our last accommodation to Heathrow airport. I would like you to begin the process of insurance claim for my lost baggage as early as possible. All the necessary documents are attached here with.
I await your prompt response.
Yours faithfully,
XYZ
