Television is dangerous because it destroys family life and any sense of community; instead of visiting people or talking with our family we just watch television.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Other than the source of infotainment, television has turned out to be an emotional necessity for millions in the world. Simultaneously, it also carries along the devastating effects on the personal relations of the people. Therefore, I entirely agree with the statement that television is harmful to society because of its consequences on family relations and the way people connect.
Undoubtedly, television is a big source of entertainment for the masses and classes due to which it has become an inseparable part of human life. It has been commonly seen that rather than discussing important matters related to family, nation, work or studies most of the people usually discuss more the TV serials or the other content telecasted on TV. For instance, a famous TV show in India, Bigg Boss, always remains in the top discussions of people. It has negatively impacted society because people emulate the inappropriate language, nasty habits, and the rough attitude of participants displayed in the show.
People, these days have drowned themselves in the television world to such an extent that they forget their real world. They hardly spare time to communicate and see their loved ones. That’s the major reason that relations are going haywire. Television has also cut down the communication within the family. No doubt, some families watch TV shows together, however, that’s the only activity they do together. Eventually, television is taking a toll on the personal relationships of the common people
In conclusion, it is believed that television is negatively impacting human relations because, in order to watch TV, people do not get involved with one another. In fact, healthy discussions on family matters have been replaced by discussions on TV shows.
