I love travelling and I can never have enough of it. I have travelled far and wide in my country via various modes of transportation but car journeys have always been my favourite. Commuting by car to our favourite and picturesque destinations is indeed a bliss because we can comfortably travel at our own pace and can stop by anywhere we want.

Here I will describe one of the most memorable car journeys that I enjoyed. Few years ago, in 2017, me and my husband decided to go to Jim Corbett on our first wedding anniversary. We wanted to visit a unique and natural place and finally we decided to visit Jim Corbett which is located in Uttarakhand. Moreover, we also planned to visit Nainital, a famous hill station which was only 60 kms ahead of Jim Corbett. Our destination was over 400 kms away from our Ludhiana and that excited us because we were really looking forward to a long road trip.

We left our home at 8 am in the morning that day. We had packed up a night before and we were thrilled because we were going away for 10 days. We made the first stop at Ambala at 11 am where we stopped by a roadside diner and had some tea. We also ate some homemade grilled chicken sandwiches which we got warmed up at the diner. Then we again continued our journey while listening to our favourite songs in the car’s stereo. When we entered Uttarakhand , we could see picturesque landscapes all around us. We again took our second stop at 3:30 pm in the evening at a restaurant named Monty millions in Bijnor. It was a beautiful vegetarian restaurant located amid the lush green lawns. We relished Masala Dosas with filter coffee over there and took some photographs to capture some memories. We resumed our journey again at around 5 pm and decided not to play any more music. We conversed with each other and made many plans about things to do once we arrive at our destination. We also found out about a place called Lansdowne, one of the quietest hill stations through the internet which was only 50 kms from Jim Corbett. We decided to spend a night there as well on our way back from Nainital. I really enjoyed spending quality time with my husband as we had long and interesting conversations after quite some time. I really look forward to more interesting car journeys like these in the future.
