I am very fond of traveling and usually stay in hotels or guest houses whenever I travel to other cities. I have been to quite a few hotels in my lifetime but today, I would like to share about a traditional yet luxury hotel which is situated in Jodhpur.

Last year, in the month of the January, I got a chance to be part of the destination wedding which held in the famous Umaid Bhawan Palace. It is a royal palace which was built in the year 1929. I went there with my family to attend the wedding and our stay was booked in the hotel established in the palace itself. This part of the palace is administered and managed by the renowned group of Taj Hotels. The hotel welcomed the guests with the traditional dance and music. They made us wear the ethnic turbans and made us dance with them. When we entered the hotel, we were awestruck by the beauty of it. The interiors of the hotel were architectural and reflect the heritage of Rajasthan. It has around seventy grand rooms and suites decorated with the paintings of the Mughal time.  All the rooms have been built in a way that they give access to the guests to enjoy the picturesque view of the city from the windows. It has lush green gardens and a swimming pool too.

Apart from the marvellous interiors and art décor, the hotel has the best cuisines in the city. They have the option of the traditional Rajasthani food too but its quite expensive as compared to the other cuisines. The management of the hotel is very welcoming and humble towards the guests. It has separate massive halls for the wedding functions and parties. The hotel also equips a museum where the arms used in the wars during the ancient times have been kept. Also, there is a gift shop inside the hotel from where one can buy souvenirs. We stayed there for three days and enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We clicked a lot of pictures there to capture the beauty of the hotel and its memories.

It was indeed a royal experience which gave us a memorable stay.
