– what it was about
– how you felt about waiting in this long queue or line

Well, I think nobody likes to wait in queues and it can be quiet frustrating for everyone. I feel that waiting in long lines causes unnecessary delays in work and leads to wastage of time. Today, due to the advent of technology, it has become easy for the people to get their things done online such as payment of bills, booking tickets, etcetera. This has provided convenience to the people as they do not have to wait in lines for their turn.

Today, I would share about a time when I had to wait in a long queue. It was just a year ago, when the news of the outbreak of covid 19 spread in the world. Resultingly, all the nations around the world went into complete lock down. It was during that time, when I went to buy some groceries for the lockdown period. As the government announced its rulings of the complete lockdown for twenty-one days, I had to take a sprint with my brother to buy groceries for home. The news of shutting down of the market had created the situation of panic among people. This led everyone to rush to the markets to stock the essential goods. The market was overcrowded with the people and shops were fully occupied.

We visited nearest departmental store as it would have everything, we needed but it was congested with people. There were two long queues and it took us two hours to step inside the store. People standing in the queue were wearing face masks and were standing at a gap of 6 feet from the person in ahead of the line. This made the line even longer and the queue was extended up to 1.5 km across the market.

Also, while waiting for our turn, the shop ran out of the plain flour and pulses. They asked us to wait as two members of their team went to get the stock from the warehouse. While standing in the queue, I realised that people are quite scared because of the whole state of affairs. Even the police were on patrol, to keep a check on the compliances of the governmental guidelines and rulings regarding the same.

Finally, after waiting for two long hours, we were able to purchase the essentials.
