For school children, their teachers have more influence on their intelligence and social development than their parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed by many that teachers have a greater impact than parents on the social and intellectual growth of the school-going children. This essay completely falls in inclination with the above-given idea and will provide supporting viewpoints in the upcoming stanzas.

First and foremost, although parents lay the foundation of children’s overall development by nurturing them before the onset of schooling period, teachers play a significant role in shaping the intellectual and social skills of their pupils. It is because they assist them in regulating their emotions themselves and to relate successfully to their peers. While at school, teachers act as guardians of students and guide them how to get along well with others in various ways such as by dividing them into teams or groups for certain projects or competitions so that they may learn how to be good listeners, develop traits like cooperation, teamwork and learn how to form interpersonal relationships. After home, school is the first platform for learners to develop social and intellectual skills and tutors make it easy going by keeping them guided and supervised at each and every step.

In addition, teachers are like a candle which burns itself and illuminates the lives of pupils. Remarkable teachers leave an everlasting impact on the minds of students. The ones skilled in imparting knowledge effectively help the children to remember and retain the taught facts and concepts throughout their lives. Moreover, tutors also provide warmth and support to scholars in situations where they need emotional assistance. Furthermore, they also help educatees to make responsible choices, to observe, identify, learn, and replicate social and emotional skills, social norms, and behaviour codes.

In conclusion, students spend a considerable amount of time in schools under the surveillance of their educators. Good teachers not only enhance the intellect of students by providing them valuable knowledge and academic lessons but also assist them in growing up as adults who can prevail confidently in society.
