  1. Do you often read newspapers?

Yes, I have a habit of reading newspapers each day. My day seems incomplete without reading the daily newspaper.

  1. Which do you prefer reading, magazines or newspapers?

I prefer to read newspapers because it is up to date and gives knowledge about what’s going on in the surroundings on a daily basis whereas magazines deliver the news after a month.

  1. What kinds of (types of) newspapers (or magazines) do you usually read?

I usually read national and international newspapers. I also like to keep track of Bollywood and Hollywood news as I have an ardent interest in movies and television. 

  1. How old were you when you first started to read newspapers?

I guess I was around 12 years old and during my summer break, our school gave a project of reading newspapers each day and finding out at least five main headlines. That was the time when I first started to read newspapers.

  1. Do you think it’s important to read newspapers? (Why?/Why not?)

Yes, I think it is very essential to read newspapers to learn about the updates and happenings of the world. It provides news about the economy, sports, entertainment, and business sectors.

  1. Why do (you think) people read newspapers?

I think that people read newspapers to expand their knowledge and to remain well informed about their surroundings.

  1. What different types of newspapers are there in India?

In India, there are separate newspapers for business and general information. Also, these newspapers dedicate special pages to sports and entertainment sectors.

  1. Do you care about the news?

Yes, I care about the news as I like to know about the changes happening in the different sectors of the world. It helps me to stay in touch with the new technologies and prospects of the world.

  1. What kinds of news do Indian people read in newspapers?

Indian people like to read about all kinds of news, however, a large part of the readers remain keen on reading news related to economic conditions and sports.

  1. Do you prefer to read about domestic (or local) news or international news? (Why?)

I give equal importance to both domestic and international news as I think both are important to progress along with one’s own nation as it has a direct impact on our lives and international news helps in broadening my horizons and knowledge.

  1. What are some methods that newspapers use to attract readers?

Newspapers use catchy and controversial headlines to attract readers. In some news such as sports and entertainment, they also emphasize printing pictures to catch the attention of the readers.

  1. What influence do you think newspapers have on society?

I think newspapers act as a binding force to unite society by bringing them together and informing them about everything. They play an important role in forming the perspective of society and its people.

  1. Do you think the Internet is a good way to get news?

Yes, with the changing times, the internet is playing a crucial role in providing access to the news every minute. It is the fastest medium that gives news even before the newspaper and many people, especially youngsters rely on the internet
