The table below shows the most popular types of holidays activities amongst British senior high school students in 2003.

The provided tabular chart reveals the popularity of various types of free time activities done by English students who attended senior high school in 2003. It is evident that female students’ exposure to holiday activities was slightly more than male students’ except two categories.

A glance at the table reveals that watching movies and sleeping were the most conspicuous choices among females accounting for 27 and 25 respectively. However, 31 male students preferred playing sports as the best choice whereas females practicing sports were around a quarter of males. It is interesting to note that both sex groups chose watching movies as the second alternative having almost a minor difference in the number among both genders. Reading was preferred two times more by girls than boys. Even though several activities namely gardening (4) and self-education (6) were the least common for females, whereas it was self-education (5) for males.

Overall, boys were more interested in performing physically demanding activities during holidays whereas females mostly liked leisure outings or indoor activities.
