Describe a place you visited on vacation

You should say:

– Where it is

– When you went there

– What you did there

– And explain why you went there

  • Well, I’m fond of travelling and love visiting new places.
  • Here I would like to talk about a place I visited a couple of months ago with my family.
  • What happened exactly, one of my uncles who lives in Canada came to India with his family and he made a plan to visit any hill station.
  • After discussion, we finalised Shimla which is a famous hill station and the state capital of Himachal Pradesh.
  • It is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas in the northern part of India.
  • Shimla is a popular destination for holidays and the most sought-after hill station in India.
  • Since the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I had never been to any place.
  • However, in February 2021, our government gave some relaxation and allowed travelling.
  • After travelling for several hours, finally, we reached in the evening.
  • On that evening, we went to one of the famous place tourist spots named Mall Road.
  • I had heard so much about this place, but on that day, I truly experienced that magic in its air people talk about.
  • We clicked some photos and also had some snacks along with coffee.
  • Next day, fortunately, I got a chance to see snowfall and this was the first time I was witnessing this marvellous view.
  • Apart from these, me and my cousins also took part in some snow activities like skating.
  • As my uncle is a spiritual person, we visited a temple and an ancient church over there.
  • We also visited another famous tourist spot in Shimla that is Kufri.
  • As it is situated at a height, I got an opportunity to admire the breathtaking scenery of snow-clad mountains.
  • As it is popular for skiing, many tourists were experiencing the thrill involved in skiing.
  • The main reason why I choose Shimla is that many of my friends visited Shimla and I heard a lot from them about its snowfall, breathtaking views and sightseeing.
  • I must say this was one of the best trips, I have ever been to.
