There are many changes which can be beneficial if they take place in my community. But there is one thing that I feel would make a big difference. It would be the construction of a park in my society. At present, there is no garden or park in our society. There are many negative consequences of this. Firstly, the children in the society have no place to play outdoors in the evenings and as a result they spend most of their time indoors. This I feel has a negative effect on their health. Sometimes they play on the street, but that is very risky. The parents are always worried as the children run here and there on the busy roads which can lead to accidents. Moreover, many of us in the society like to go for morning walks. Currently we walk in the street but again we have to be very careful because of traffic. A new park would give us a place to go for morning walk and evening walk. I think the park would also be a good place to socialize. All residents of our society can spend some quality time in the park especially during evenings after school and work. The golden aged will also be able to communicate with their peers and will not feel bored at home. Many people will be able to do exercises like Yoga there. There is vacant government land in the society. Many people are insisting on installing some rides like swings, see-saw, merry-go-round and a playground climber in the park so that children can spend some quality time playing there. It is not very large, but I think it would be an ideal place for construction of a park. We have already proposed the idea to the local Member of Parliament, and he has promised to support and work for our cause. I am really hopeful that the local administration will soon pick up the project and start working on it.
