School days are the best days of one’s life. It is the first place where children get an opportunity to socialise and interact with people other than their family. I also miss my school life and here I will talk about the school I used to go to. I studied only in one and the same school from Kindergarten to grade twelfth. The name of my school was MGM Public School. MGM stands for Mother Gur Kaur Memorial, the inspiring spirit behind the project. She was actually the mother of the Director of our school who is now no more and the schools and its several other branches were built in her memory.
The School with its motto “Learning is Priceless” has the basic vision of providing quality education and right input to help children grow into well-adjusted individuals. The school emphasises on enriching the moral fiber of the country and imbibing the values of dynamically progressive Society. MGM sets the stepping stones required to face the competitive world. The mission of M.G.M. is to create a challenging learning environment that would not only encourage high expectations, but make students socially responsible adults, also. It is based on the objective to provide child centred education.
I started studying in that school in kindergarten in 1995 in Nursery class and passed out twelfth grade there only in 2009. It’s a very good school with modern infrastructure providing all the required facilities to its students like 3 science laboratories, an auditorium, a canteen, a huge library, 2 spacious playgrounds, art & music room as well as a well-equipped computer lab. The school is very particular about discipline, neatness and all-round development of the students. Teachers there are well-qualified and highly experienced. Problems and complaints of students are given great importance. Parent-teacher meetings are held every 3 months to aware the parents of the status of their children. The school also provides the pick and drop facility to its pupils as it has an outstanding arrangement for transportation. Capable students are trained well for different types of sports and other extracurricular activities. The school also has always delivered good academic results. I loved my school and being a student of MGM fills my heart with pride.
