My city Ludhiana is full of gardens which are being maintained by the Municipal Corporation, however, there is another place which I have a particular liking for, it is situated almost 20 kilometres on the outskirts of Ludhiana and in a small town called as Doraha and it has a very beautiful picnic spot come garden which is known as Vanasthali. Now it’s a huge area which is filled with grass and flowers and plants which has small Hills like structures and built in between, which give a very different kind of look from normal gardens and also the best thing which it has is a statue of Lord Buddha at the end of the garden and it’s a huge 20 to 30 feet big statue and the beauty is added whenever a person goes in the evening time. The lights which fall on the statue, they bring about a very calm and very peaceful environment during a time when it is almost nine or ten o’clock, the closing is at 11 o’clock at night and so by 10:00 p.m. when almost all the noises of the city and the outside people have calmed down the total environment is very very serene. It’s one of the best feelings I’ve ever had because you see a pitch-black sky with stars shimmering on up above there and down below is cool green grass and the statue of Lord Buddha has a very calming effect on a person and when you’re just sitting there you just feel so present in the moment that it brings about a lots of clarity of your life and lots of peacefulness and happiness to the people around you also. There are so many times I go around there with my family and alone also I have been there so that’s one particular place which I always recommend to my near and dear ones to visit once at least during one night outs they should definitely try out being there and enjoy the peacefulness thank you.
