Well, I think imagination is an integral part of everyone’s life as it is a human tendency to imagine things and situations in their head. It can prove to be advantageous in some cases but can also lead to mental turmoil if it involves a pessimistic approach. However, imagination requires great intelligence and creativity. It also assists in broadening our thinking capacity and sense of perceiving things. I would like to talk about the time when I used my imagination in a competition.
When I was in high school, I had fine arts as my elective subject. I was on leave for a week due to my ill health and on reassuming the classes I got to know that we have an art competition on the same day. The theme of the contest was already told to the students and they had a day to prepare and gather ideas for the same. But due to being absent, it came to me as a surprise. My friends suggested me to skip the competition as I was not prepared for it.
However, I did not want to miss this opportunity and decided to go for it. I came to know that we have to make an oil painting based on the occasion of Earth Day. Though it was a tough theme I used my artistry innovation to paint the drawing. In the middle of the canvas, I drew the earth and inside it, I depicted the pollution from the factory emissions, deforestation, and use of plastic bags. I also made tears falling down from the picture of the earth to depict its sad situation. Around the earth, I made an enormous tree in the manner that it exhibited that the tree is hugging the earth warming in its arms. I drew the universe in the background as it would have enhanced the beauty of the painting with the added colors and stars. The whole painting came out to be very appealing and informative. My friends and teachers were astonished to see the painting and I was able to win second prize in that competition.
Though visualization can be a difficult task but I realized that it can improve creative abilities over time. I felt good that I did not give up and used my imagination efficiently to win the competition.
