Despite not having a very extroverted nature, I made numerous friends in life so far. I made many friends during school, college, at work and also came across some through social media. In this hectic schedule, it’s always delightful in catching up with friends. Here I will talk about a friend from school whom I recently met a few months ago.
Her name is Prabhjot Kaur Badesha. She is 29 years old. We used to study in school together. After school she moved to the USA for higher studies in 2009 and we lost contact with each other. She is one of my closest friends during grade 10 and in 11th standard she opted for Arts stream and I opted for Medical, therefore we did not get to spend much time at school with each other. However, we used to meet each other post school hours as she used to visit me at my home sometimes. We used to call and text each other almost every day till late night and we used to gossip for hours. She also twice took me to Kips market back in 2007 when we were in grade 8th and I still miss those long drives we enjoyed together on her scooter.
When the lockdown started I had enough time to go through my social media accounts as the college where I work was closed due to Covid 19. One day I was just going through my Facebook message requests and I was delighted to see that I got a message from her back in April 2019. She probably sent me the message as my friend requests on Facebook were blocked. I immediately opened the message and replied back to her. She saw my message within an hour and replied back. She told me that she got married 3 years ago and has a 6 months old son named Zoravar. As she lives in Patiala, we planned a rendezvous and finally met last month at Nik Bakers during her visit to Ludhiana. She actually came to meet and stay with her parents for some days. She left her son with them and came to meet me as we had planned. It was such an incredible feeling to meet her after so long and I was totally amazed that she had not changed one bit inside out. We had a wonderful evening together and shared so many things that happened in our lives over the years and we also refreshed the school memories. It felt great to see my best friend after so long.
