  • Where you saw it

  • Explain why it is interesting

I am not a very big fan of aquatic animals. But yes, seeing them has always mesmerized me in one way or the other, especially fishes. So, this incident is almost 10 years old. And I had gone to Delhi to visit one of my friends. And on the station, I saw a large aquarium. Now, aquariums are nothing unusual, or nothing special. However, there was one particular animal, one particular creature, which actually caught my attention. And it was a small seahorse. Now, it’s quite unusual to find a seahorse in an aquarium. But since it was a big one, and it held all the kind of flora and fauna which usually is seen in the SeaWorld, this small creature had mesmerized me. It had very small, not even legs, it has just a tail, which is called around and the resemblance it had and the uncanny resemblance it had to a horse and the way it moved in such a big world, in comparison to his size, that literally took my breath away. And it was quite unusual, because usually sea horses are found in the sea. And in such an environment, it is very difficult for these creatures to survive. And so I went to the owner of the station, and I’ve asked him, so I went to the manager, and I asked him that, how come this creature is available here, and it’s arriving and he told me that this is a special kind of water, which we use in order to keep this animal alive. And it needs or it requires a special kind of diet also. And this creature also needs a very warm environment and so the temperature at which it strives is also maintained in the aquarium. And along with what’s most interesting is that the fishes which are in this environment, they are also in accordance to this creature so that they don’t end up eating it. And this memory still very much etched in my mind after seeing that small animal trying to survive in such a big world. It provides lots of hope and also makes us realize that every creature on this earth has its own place defined and its own value is there. So that was the best experience I had. Thank you

Sample 2:

I am an animal lover and feel that animals are the precious souls which need to be loved and cared for. Aquatic animals have always caught my attention and interest as they cannot be easily seen as compared to terrestrial animals. These are hard to find in the surroundings and play with.

My favourite aquatic animal is Dolphin and I would like to share my views on the same. These are marine mammals and hail from the family of whales. These are quite huge in size and are heavy in weight. Their bodies are streamlined which makes it easy for them to move swiftly under water. They also have two fins which are used as arms to flip. Usually, they are found in grey, brown or blue colour.

The fascinating fact about them is that though, they live in water but are considered as mammals and not fish. They do not breathe like fish in the water, however, they come to surface to breathe air. I saw it for the first time around two years back when I was watching a movie named “Flipper” with my cousins. I was spellbound by the way story showcased the nature of Dolphins.

I came to know from the movie that these are the most intelligent mammals. Also, these are playful and can captivate everyone’s hearts through their impressive acrobatics. They can jump in the air and can perform tricks such as jumping and dancing in the air, flipping and balancing themselves on their tail.

After the movie, I developed a keen interest in learning about this adorable creature. I watched some documentaries on marine animals and learnt that these are highly social creatures and are often found in groups.

Dolphins also know how to communicate with other beings such as humans. Due to this unique quality, in several parts of the world, Dolphins are used for the entertainment shows. These shows are quite popular among the tourists especially children who enjoy to watch the notorious acts of these aquatic animals. I wish to attend such a show, one day in future so that I could experience the beauty of Dolphins with my naked eyes.
