Describe your first day at school

  • Where it was?

  • What happened?

  • Explain how you felt on that day

childhood memories are always special and what makes them more engrossing are the school memories. When I first began schooling, I was supposed to join in upper kindergarten. And this is what my father had aimed for. However, I do not know the reason why, but I was somehow admitted into lower kindergarten. Now, my father was quite upset about this, but this memory which I have for my first day of school, it is the only one which is which remains kind of stuck in my mind. So, it was in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and I was approximately five years old. And during the first day, since I was admitted to lower kindergarten, as I said, incidentally, competition was held on that day. So it was a race where in the kids were supposed to hold a spoon in their mouth, and put a toffee in the spoon and walk fast. So they were not supposed to run, but it was a fast walking race. And incidentally, I participated in that and I was just a third prize winner and I still remember the photograph was being taken by the photographer. I was supposed to stand in the queue, but I especially remember holding the tiffin box that was my price. And looking at it at what exactly it is because I did not know what I had done and what am I getting it for? And there was a very beautiful feeling because when I came back home, my father was happy seen that this is something that one and the first day and he always tells me that you know, that was a day I was just I forgave you and I was happy that it’s okay that if she did not get into the next class, but she has achieved something. So that’s that’s one of the memories which remains in my mind till date. Thank you

Sample 2:

Schools are the foundation stone of every human’s life. We tend to gain education, knowledge and important life lessons from schools. Every individual has fond memories attached to his school time.

Today, I would like to describe the memory of the first day I spent at my school. Though I hardly remember my first day at the primary school as I was quite young but I am sure I might have been scared to leave my parents and enter a new life with new people around. But I clearly remember the first day of my secondary school and would like to share that experience.

I used to study in a public school till 8th standard which was affiliated to Punjab Board. After this, my parents decided to shift me in Convent school for my higher studies. The school was quite far from my home but my parents decided to enrol me there for my bright future. I used to travel to the school in a van every day.

I remember when my parents first told me about their decision, I was reluctant to change the school as I would have to leave my old friends. I told them to keep me in the same school but they made me understood the importance of change in life and the growth associated with it. I was feeling anxious while going to the school on the first day.

As I have an introvert nature, I was aware that it would be difficult for me to open up with new people and would find it difficult to make friends. The first half of the day went well, me being quiet all time and introducing myself to every teacher.

However, the lunch break was the hardest part of that day. I was missing my old friends and was not feeling like having lunch alone. However, to my surprise, a group of girls came to my seat and offered me to join them for the lunch. Hesitatingly, I joined their group and they took me to the canteen. We talked about each other while having lunch and they made me feel comfortable and welcomed.

Thereafter, I enjoyed every bit of my first day at school with them. Though I started the day with some sadness and apprehension but a warm welcome from the teachers and my classmates changed my mood. I was also impressed with the huge building of the school, playgrounds and art room. I remember coming home from the school that day and hugging my parents with gratitude for admitting me in that school.
