Well, I live in the northern part of India and it is blessed with wonderful weather. In my city, I get to experience all the weathers such as summer, winter, autumn, spring and rainy. This combination of all the seasons also makes the land of north India fertile and suitable for growing agricultural products. Though I derive pleasure during all the seasons as I enjoy seasonal delicacies but winter is my favourite weather. It extends from November to February in my region. I particularly like the winter season due to many reasons, The foremost is that it tends to give relief from the extremely hot summers. I find summers quite harsh and exhausting; also, I usually get skin agitations due to the scorching heat of the sun. Due to this, I eagerly wait for the winters to arrive so that I can enjoy the sunlight and could roam freely without any problem. Also, I love to wear jackets and like to do layering with my clothes and this could only be possible in winters. Even, my mother makes hand-knitted sweaters and cardigans for me and I love to wear them in winters. The most essential part of the winters is that our family visit Himachal Pradesh during winter break. We take this trip every year without fail and enjoy the snow in the hills. Moreover, it is during this season that most of the festivals which are celebrated in India arrive and this makes the winter season more cheerful. Even, Christmas eve and the new year come during this time period and winters carry a festive and joyous feel. Also, the authentic Punjabi regional food which is mustard greens with maize bread is available only during this time of the year. It is my favourite dish as my grandmother cooks this for the whole family and we enjoy this meal while sitting under the sun on our lawn. Although, I enjoy this season the days are a little gloomy in winters and people usually feel lethargic which affects their productivity. Also, the dense fog demands extra caution while driving in winters. But overall, I enjoy every bit of the winters whether it is the dresses, food or celebrations.
