  1. Do you often (like to) listen to music?

Well, I have an extremely busy schedule and I listen to music once or twice a week whenever I go for a walk on the weekends.  I enjoy listening to music but the extremely busy routine does not allow it.

  1. When do you listen to music?

As I have mentioned earlier, I listen to music only on the weekends in my leisure time while I cook in the kitchen or go for a walk in the evenings.

  1. How much time do you spend listening to music every day?

I do not listen to music everyday due to a hectic schedule but I enjoy listening to it on Saturdays and Sundays for like 1 hour.

  1. What kinds of music do you like to listen to?

I like to listen to music with good beats on which one can dance at, good music lifts the spirits and rejuvenates the mood. I also like to listen to soul music in particular as it’s quite relaxing and refreshing.

  1. What’s your favorite kind of music?

I like to listen to Pop, folk, dance and country music. I developed a liking for these music types since high school.

  1. Have you ever been to a concert?

Yes, I have been to concerts several times. I really enjoy attending Satinder Sartaj’s concerts because he sings melodiously and the lyrics of his songs are self-written and sensible.

  1. Do you like to listen to live music?

No, I prefer to listen to recorded music instead because that has all the flaws fixed with autotunes and one can hear it according to their own convenience.

  1. When did you start listening to this type of music?

I have been listening to recorded music since I was a child. Earlier, I used to listen to music on audio cassettes or CDs and nowadays I listen to the latest tracks on the Internet through apps like Spotify.

  1. Where do you listen to it?

I listen to music mostly in my room or at the terrace. Sometimes I listen to music in the car while travelling to someplace.

  1. How do you feel when you listen to this music?

I feel relaxed and rejuvenated while listening to music. It helps us to temporarily cut off from the worldly worries and to feel calm.

  1. Have you ever learned to play a musical instrument?

Yes, when I was child, I learnt to play harmonium in school from my music teacher and also learnt to play mouth organ from my elder brother.

  1. Is music an important subject at school in India?

Yes, all the schools have music as a compulsory subject till grade tenth in India however in grade 11th and 12th it becomes optional.

  1. Did you often listen to music when you were a child? (If yes, give details.)

No, I did not listen to music very often in childhood as I was more into sports and art and craft then.

  1. What kinds of music are (most) popular in India?

Well, folk and regional music of each state is popular in its vicinity but Punjabi folk music as well as pop music has gained nationwide momentum and credibility.
