Mankind has always tried to control everything possible by any and every means. To satiate this desire, nuclear reactions were discovered which is the mighty discovery by humans so far. However, nuclear technology has more risks associated with it than its benefits. This essay discusses the pros and cons of this technology.

The risks of nuclear technology are devastating for mankind. It is not less than a monster that can engulf the entire humanity in one go, even if mistakenly disposed of. Despite knowing the destructive nature of nuclear energy, many countries have acquired it for security purposes at the national borders. As a result, nuclear weapons are becoming common in the world to overcome the insecurities from adjoining nations. However, the flashback of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 is quite enough to enlighten the hazardous consequences of harnessing nuclear power. Moreover, depletion of flora and fauna of the place, as well as genetic deformities in the population for years can be seen due to nuclear reactions. 

When it comes to the benefits of nuclear technology, nuclear radiations are used in chemotherapy as a cure for the most prevalent disease, cancer. Although it has shown promising results in damaging cancerous cells but has adverse effects in the long run due to certain types of mutations in the cells.

To core out, the dangerous effects of nuclear technology are faster and farther. Therefore, risks overrule the few immediate benefits associated with the same as far as the harmony and welfare of humanity are concerned.
