- what your skills and experience are
- what can you do as a volunteer
Dear Sir,
My name is XYZ and I am an immigrant student of Indian origin. I am pursuing a Diploma in Social Work in Northern College, Ontario and writing to you to apply for some voluntary work in Oakville, Ontario.
I seek an opportunity to work as a volunteer at Mother Teresa Old Age Home and Orphanage in the community kitchen. I opted for the course of social work just because I want to be of some assistance to the needy in society and preparing meals for the elderly and young children would help me satisfy this urge. Also, I need 2-month experience of unpaid work as it’s a part of my internship programme however I would like to continue working there even after 2 months.
I am a Bachelor in Social work and also have excellent cooking skills. Moreover, I have pursued a 3-month cookery course and I know how to prepare scrumptious and nutritious meals as per the requirement of elderly or children. I had been preparing meals for my ailing grandmother back in India. Also, I have a great patience level and reverence for the golden aged as well as the orphans, therefore I believe I will be able to serve them quite efficiently.
Apart from assisting in preparing wholesome meals, I can also help in doing laundry or housekeeping as I am willing to be of help in the best way possible. I can also help children with their studies. I would be grateful if you would give me this golden opportunity to do humanitarian work.
Looking forward to a positive and prompt revert.
Yours sincerely,
XYZ
