Children are engaged in different kinds of paid work. Many people consider it inappropriate and many think it as a learning experience for taking responsibility? Give your opinion and views at the statement.
It is undeniable that teenagers are being increasingly involved in part-time employment, nowadays. Some people opine that there is nothing wrong if children learn how to become financially independent at their early age. Whereas others say it is morally wrong when teenagers engage in any kind of paid employment. I also strongly believe that it is wrong for children to be involved in salaried work.
There are notable reasons that many people think it is improper for adolescents to undertake part-time jobs. Firstly, it is commonly observed that children are usually involved in physically tiring work which does not provide them with professional skills and work experience for the future. For instance, they do cleaning and serving at hotels, heavy weight-lifting at construction sites etcetera. Eventually, it takes a big toll on their studies, as well as, career. Since teenagers devote less time to academics in order to spare time for work. Sometimes it may adversely affect their health while performing dangerous and physically challenging tasks. Therefore, the involvement of children in paid jobs merely for small earnings is not a positive development.
On the other hand, some people think it is commendable when adolescents enter employment in their childhood because they learn to become financially independent and able to undertake the responsibilities in life. Moreover, if they earn, they can share the burden of family in managing overheads. Besides this, it is observed that sometimes when children accomplish their short-term goals, this motivates them to work harder for their bigger goals. Most importantly, it teaches them discipline and time-management skills.
To core out, I strongly disregard the phenomenon of children as employees until or unless they engage in work that is relevant to their studies and interests. Since they do not get any valuable work experience through such jobs, however, waste their precious time and energy for little immediate advantages.
