Well, neither am I very fond of listening to any random songs nor am I a frequent reader but sometimes there are certain songs that have meaningful lyrics or have wording which I can relate to, and I listen to such songs repeatedly. Here I will talk about a line that I remember from one of my favourite songs that i have been listening to and humming since 2004 when I was in grade 8. It’s “Life goes on as it never ends, eyes of stone observe the trends, they never say, forever gaze upon me”. It means that life keeps going on and doesn’t stop even if we lose someone close to us and people become strong and stone hearted when they have to go through such pain in life. The pain resides deep in their hearts forever subconsciously. This line is from a song named “Show me the meaning” sung by American boy band, Backstreet Boys, taken from their third studio album, Millennium in 1999. It was written by Max Martin and Herbie Crichlow, with production by Martin and Kristian Lundin.

I heard it for the first time on the television on MTV channel. As soon as I listened to it for the first time, I got intrigued by its meaningful lyrics. This song became quite popular worldwide and received many accolades including its nomination for Grammy award and it hit the top charts for several months. In the song the quintet is found grieving over their loss and loneliness. This song is like a tribute and calls out to those who lost their loved ones due to separation or death forever during their walk of life. It is dedicated to the people who have lost their near and dear ones. Due to this song only, Backstreet boys became my favourite during my school years. When i made my friends listen to this song, they also developed a liking for it and we all used to sing it while driving to some place or during school break. The above mentioned lines particularly left a deep imprint on mind and heart forever and made me realize that one has to survive and keep living even if they lose or get separated from their loved ones due to certain circumstances.
