  1. Do people in your country like to read books?

Yes, many people in my country like to read books of different kinds according to their interests as they have a quest for gathering knowledge and books are an ocean of wisdom, thus proving to be the best source.

  1. What kinds of books are most popular in your country?

Many kinds of books are popular among people of my country such as story books, novels, classics, comic books, history books, academic books, books related to fantasy, detective and mystery, horror , romance , biographies, autobiographies , true crime, fiction , cookbooks and poetry.

  1. Do you think reading is important?

Yes, reading is vital as it helps to expand the mind and give us more ideas. Reading has been proven to keep our minds young, healthy and sharp. Reading helps to get rid of stress and also helps us to sleep better.

  1. Do you think electronic books will eventually replace paper books?

Yes, I think so because almost everyone has immediate access to read E-books as smartphones, tablets, and computers have become too common. E-books have their own perks such as fonts can be enlarged, multiple readers can read books of the same title at the same time and people no longer have to rush to bookstores to find a book which sometimes isn’t even available there. Moreover, E-books are also eco-friendly and also save printing and publishing costs.

  1. Some people like to collect books. Why do you think they do this?

Some people are extremely fond of reading thus they like to maintain a collection of their favorite books to cherish and treasure them forever. Some people find books to be their best friends as they keep them company and away from boredom and loneliness.

  1. Is compulsory reading (in schools) a good idea?

Yes, I think so because reading develops the mind. Understanding the written word is one way the mind grows in its ability. Teaching young children to read helps them develop their language skills. It also helps them to learn to listen.

  1. What books do children read and what do adults read?

Children mostly like to read story books, comics, books based on fantasy and educational books related to their academics whereas adults like to read novels, cookery books, religious books, books based on literature and romance, true crime , poetry , autobiographies and biographies.

  1. Why do men and women prefer different books?

I think having a preference for a particular genre of books is subjective and has nothing much to do with gender nowadays when people share similar interests and liking.

  1. Why do some books become internationally popular?

ISome books become internationally popular as the readers feel it matches with their idea , their notion , and their wishes. For instance, Harry potter became famous worldwide because it successfully dragged its readers out of their normal rational thinking world into a vast irrational , awe-striking world where they always wanted to be.

  1. What type of books children read nowadays and what type of books did children like reading in the past?

Children read the same kind of books in the present as they did in the past but they nowadays also read ebooks rather than reading paper books which were the only alternative in the past.

  1. Do you think children have lost their interest in stories?

Yes, children have lost their interest in stories as nowadays they are more inclined towards technology and gadgets like video games, tablets and cell phones rather than reading or listening to stories in their leisure time.

  1. Can storybooks be an ideal gift for children?

Definitely! Story books are indeed the best gift for children. They help in developing the habit of reading in them from an early age. Also, when they read story books, it enhances their power of imagination and widens their thinking.
