Some people believe that companies should hire young people. Others say that older experienced staff should be hired. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Recruitment of the workforce has always been a tedious task for corporations when they have to choose between young and elderly applicants. Some companies prefer young employees while others recruit aged-workers for definite reasons. This essay shall discuss the topic from both aspects.

There are plenty of reasons that many people believe companies should recruit young adults. Primarily, youngsters are undoubtedly more receptive and inquisitive by nature as compared to the elderly. They quickly adapt to the sudden changes in the organization and stay optimistic about those changes. Besides this, the young workforce is a good fit in this hi-tech era since they have more inclination towards technology, thus, keep themselves abreast of all new technological trends. Moreover, young employees generally are great risk-takers and always challenge new tasks. Most importantly, the passion and enthusiasm towards work remain all-time high among young adults as compared to their counterparts.

Older workers, on the other hand, have a vast experience of their profession and they might have observed so many ups and downs in the company during previous years. Therefore, with this better insight, they can guide, lead and command their juniors in a great way. Their ideas, inputs, and recommendations become an asset to companies. Another advantage of seasoned workers is that they do not require much training and attention. Therefore, due to the above-mentioned reasons, many corporations prefer older employees over youngsters.

In my opinion, new staff should be hired according to the type and demand of work. Since both, younger and older workers make a valuable contribution to the firm’s growth in their own way.
