Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement. To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?
There is no denying in the fact that garbage production has been increased at an alarming rate. The only solution to lower this rate is the method of recycling. However, it has been observed that not many people consider recycling their household waste. Therefore, I think ruling bodies need to formulate laws to encourage people in adopting the method of recycling to lower waste production.
I strongly think that the government should impose laws so that it becomes the legal obligation for the people to adopt recycling. Since people do not consider that they must follow recycling processes in their house-based rubbish. They are ignorant that garbage is no less than a menace that is triggering the issues like pollution to global warming and now ecological imbalance with the extinction of flora and fauna. Thus, the intervention of the government is much needed to enforce people in separating the recyclable and non-recyclable waste while dumping it in the bins.
Moreover, it has been commonly observed that people only become responsible when authorities take stringent steps against offenders in the form of punishments and heavy fines. Similarly, in this matter of waste management, the government should formulate and impose certain laws which will definitely work to ensure waste recycling among citizens. Otherwise, mountains of garbage will continue to grow which make a tremendous contribution to environmental degradation.
In conclusion, I believe that government actions through proper laws are the need of the hour to stimulate people for waste recycling. This is the only solution to protect our environment from the proliferation of garbage.
