Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it.
Discuss both these views and give your opinion.
There is no exaggeration in saying that advertisements, these days, are ubiquitous. To achieve the heights of success, behemoths of brands advertise their products and services round the clock to lure the people. Sometimes, they become successful too. However, this cannot be denied that civilized society in the present era is not easy to entice with misleading promotions. This essay discusses both aspects more closely.
People who have the opinion that commercials are successful in alluring more and more customers are true because companies plot their commercials usually by keeping the target audience in mind so that they can be attracted easily. For instance, the bombardment of advertisements on toys and eatables on TV fascinates the children tremendously to buy such things. Besides this, nowadays, the trend of FOMO and huge discounts on certain services or commodities draws the attention of people, eventually, they end up purchasing those things.
Whilst some people think that persuasive advertisements have no impact on the well-informed society because they know how misleading these adverts are. Also, endless advertisements on social media, television, or print media only about a single product by different companies are nowhere helping the people in making the right choice. Thus, folks are aware of the marketing strategies of corporations and only buy things according to their requirements, therefore turning deaf ears to omnipresent advertisements.
To core out, I believe that people who are oblivious of provocative adverts fall into the trap of marketing tactics however, the majority of the people in today’s world pay no heed to such adverts and always make an informed choice while buying anything according to their necessities.
