The charts below give information about the way in which water was used in different countries in 2000.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The above two charts depict the information about the way water is used in the world and different countries for the year 2000. The pie chart illustrates the worldwide water usage, whereas horizontal chart provides information about 4 different countries on the y-axis with the percentages on x-axis.

A glance at the pie chart reveals that agriculture is the area where a higher quantity of water has been used in the year 2000 which was 70%. Moreover, industries used up only 22%, the least usage of water was recorded for domestic purposes.

By observing the horizontal bar chart, it can be clearly noticed that India had more agricultural activities as compared to the other three countries, as the highest agricultural water usage is recorded as 92% and the least as 8% in Canada. Although Canada registered its highest usage for industries as 80%. Whereas, New Zealand almost supplied water equally for the areas of agriculture and domestic with 44% and 46% respectively. China used up more water in its agriculture, followed by industry with 22% and domestic usage consumed the tiniest fraction.
