Since teenagers prefer spending prolonged hours with these gadgets instead of reading comics or fiction. Another notable reason is children would do what they observe around them. For instance, it is a common affair nowadays, that parents as well remain glued to their mobile phones all day and children tend to emulate them. This keeps them away from books.
When it comes to counter this emerging problem, parents have a big hand in the same. First, parents need to unlearn certain habits such as using mobile phones or laptops merely to watch videos or play games in front of their kids. Instead of using gadgets, parents should start hitting the books and children will imitate them. Secondly, instead of giving technological devices, parents should give books as birthday presents to their kids and encourage them towards reading. This will inculcate the habit of reading in children. Moreover, teachers and parents always try to discuss the content of particular storybooks with children which can motivate them to explore more books.
