Dear Sir,
On behalf of the residents of Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, I am writing this letter to express my concern about the construction of a multi-storey mall in place of a park. None of us is happy about the idea. I heard this news from someone working in the Municipal Committee office.
As you are the editor of Spokesman daily, I would like you to exercise the power of your pen to make our views reach the officials. The park is an important asset to the people of our town. Nowadays we are living in a concrete jungle and parks serve as the lungs of the community. Moreover , we do not need another multi-storey building. The park is always full of children playing with each other. The elderly sit on the benches for hours chatting to each other and many people use it for exercising, morning and evening walks.
A multi-storey building will bring a lot of congestion in the area. The whole area which is very peaceful now will turn into an overcrowded area full of air and noise pollution. The media is supposed to be a link between the government and the people. It is our humble request to convey our resentment regarding this plan to the government.
