Yesterday you lost your student identification card. You need it to get discounts on public transport and for the cinema, and to use the college library. Even more importantly, you need it as proof of identity to withdraw money at the bank.
Write to the Director of Student Services explaining the situation and requesting a new card as soon as possible.

My name is XYZ and I am a second semester English Literature student at your college and I am writing this letter to request you to re-issue my student identity card as I lost mine last week.
Last Friday, on my way back home after the class, I went for an exhibition. However, after reaching home, I realized that I lost my wallet, in which I had kept my student identity card. I used it regularly to travel to college on the bus during weekdays and it also availed me a 10% discount at the cinema, and I made use of it at least twice a month.
However, the worst issue stemming from its loss is that I cannot use the library facility anymore as I need to show that card at the entrance. I am also unable to make transactions at my bank, especially withdrawal, without producing it as a proof of identification.
I would like you to issue the card again. I know there is a nominal charge for the reissue, which I will pay in advance.
