You have bought an airline ticket, but for some reason you will not be able to travel on the day scheduled.
Write a letter to the airline company:
- Providing the details of your flight,
- Explaining the situation, reasons why you cannot travel,
- Saying what you expect the airline company does
Dear Sir,
My name is XYZ and I am writing this letter to inform you about a business trip that I cannot go on, as I cannot board the flight number DXB129 because of a mishappening that took place last Monday.
I had to board flight DXB129 from New Delhi to Dubai at 11:30pm on Tuesday, 17th of November. But I can no longer travel on that day as I met with an accident at my workplace. Actually yesterday in the morning, I was walking from the parking lot to the entrance and my foot tripped and I fell sideways as someone had spilled some water there. I tried to get up but I couldn’t. I realised I had sprained my ankle. Some kind personals who were present there helped me get up and took me to the pharmacy for some first aid. I got a crepe bandage and some anti-inflammatory pills. I then went inside to wait in the waiting lounge. My foot started swelling and I decided to cancel my trip.
I had a business meeting in Dubai which was a very important one. However, when I called and told them about my predicament, they were kind enough to postpone the meeting ahead for 2 weeks.
I hope you will be kind enough to accommodate me on the flight DXB 129 which is to fly on the 24th of November at 11:30 pm. I am also a member of your frequent flyer programme. I would be very grateful to you for this kind gesture.
Hoping to hear from you soon!
Yours faithfully,
XYZ.
