While recruiting a new employee, the employer should pay more attention to their personal qualities, rather than qualifications and experience. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and include relevant examples.

Sample 1 Answer:

Usually, recruitments are done on the basis of a person’s study accomplishments and relevant experience in the field. However, this trend is changing among big companies. Employers nowadays also look for other qualities such as interpersonal, optimism, and toughness in the person. I agree with the statement that personal qualities are more important than qualifications and experience.

Without any doubt, this is the era of extensive competition in every sector. So, while hiring new workers, officials not only rely on a person’s educational background and relevant skills but also search for something extraordinary in that person. Since being only knowledgeable does not work in this cut-throat competitive world, determination, toughness, dedication, positive attitude and ability to work in a team are some of the most needed traits to stand out from the competition. Along with this, good communication skills, risk-taking capacity, innovation, and problem-solving skills with par excellence are much needed for streamlining and the growth of the company.

Moreover, if the employee has appropriate knowledge about anything but s/he is unable to lead, guide, and meticulously command others, then that knowledge has no value. So most importantly, recruiting good strategists with proper time management skills is a great investment for the corporations by bosses. Apart from this, empathy, compassion, and concern for juniors and colleagues are the other human elements required for the smooth running of the business.

In conclusion, I believe the fact that degrees and experience play an important role while selecting any employee, however, individual qualities are the prerequisite in the ever-changing dynamics of the corporate world.

Sample 2 Answer:

Recruitments on the basis of degrees and experience in the industry should not be given more priority in lieu of personal characteristics. I agree to a large extent and believe that it is extremely important to consider qualities like work ethics, as well as the psychological mindset before hiring someone. Inherent characteristics of a person should be given the highest significance during the hiring process.

A person with excellent work ethics, yet no degree, will prove to be an asset to any organization. Take for example Bill Gates. He was Harvard University dropout, but due to hard work and an efficacy to finish tasks on time, helped him build a multibillion-dollar empire. Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and so many more, they all follow the same work ethic. In turn, they also believe in hiring people with qualities and skills, rather than relying on degrees merely.

Psychological mindset is another important factor to consider while recruiting a candidate. Whether the person is willing to take risks or is he just willing to stay comfortable in his zone of work, is important to know beforehand. Leadership qualities also play a crucial role. These all qualities can be easily measured or checked through various tests and can be a great help in determining in what measures an employee will be able contribute to the organization. To conclude, it is of utmost importance to determine what kind of personality traits a recruit brings to the table, rather than mere degrees. These features play a major role in determining the intent of the future employees towards their organization.
