Some people say that television is useful for education, while others say it is useful only for entertainment. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. It is argued that people watch television to acquire knowledge about science, history and wildlife while others believe that it is mainly used as a mode of entertainment. While TV shows are helpful for learning information about different fields, I believe that the majority of people use it to watch movies and dramas. On the…

Being a celebrity- such as a famous film star or sports personality brings problems as well as benefits. Do you think that being a celebrity brings more benefits or more problems? It is a fact that when anyone becomes a famous person in a society, it brings both advantages and issues to their life. I believe that being a famous person brings more problems because it limits their freedom to go anywhere they choose, and they have to be cautious about…
Fashion trends are difficult to follow these days and it’s widely believed that they primarily exist just to sell clothes. Some people believe that we shouldn’t follow them and that we should dress in what we like and feel comfortable in. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Fashion trends are changing regularly on daily basis, and latest clothing styles come into existence mainly through prominent faces who often wear new styles in endorsements to promote them. As select clothing styles are hard to follow, therefore, some opine that it is not mandatory to follow upcoming trends, and recommend personal choice for dressing. I am completely inclined towards this viewpoint, and will give reasons to support my stand in forthcoming paragraphs.
Competitiveness among high school students should be encouraged. Do you agree or disagree?
The gradual merging of cultures and economies the world over has led to an increasingly competitive international job market. Recognition of the role competitiveness plays in success has permeated most facets of society, and this includes the institutions that prepare students for adulthood. It is agreed that competitiveness among high school students should be encouraged. The merits of this position will be shown by looking at how a competitive spirit can help train young people to both spot opportunity and cooperate with others.
The environment today is threatened by many factors. However, among the most concerning is polluted drinking water. Unsanitary drinking water is a growing global problem that impacts the health of millions of people on a daily basis. This essay will suggest two viable ways of improving this situation.
Firstly, governments should uphold strict penalties for companies that fail to operate in environmentally friendly ways.
Most would argue that growing consumerism has increased the health and stability of the global economy. In your opinion, what are some of the negative effects of growing international consumerism?
Consumerism and the adoption of market-driven economic models are phenomena that are changing the world quickly. This trend has accelerated as global income levels have increased allowing people to buy things they could not previously afford. However, increased consumerism is taxing to the planet and ramifies itself negatively in several ways. Environmental pollution and resource depletion are two main consequences of increased consumerism, and their effects will be analyzed in this essay.
In universities, young women tend to choose arts programs while young men prefer science. What are the reasons for this trend and do you think this tendency should be changed?
In many parts of the world, gender often influences university enrolment trends for specific disciplines. Young women tend to engage arts programs while young men are more likely to study science. I argue the reasons for this are largely cultural in nature and should be addressed to ensure an unbiased academic environment. This essay will provide evidence in support of this position.
Many people think that public celebrations (like national holidays, festivals, etc.) are a waste of money and that the government should spend these funds in a better way. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and examples from personal experience where appropriate.
National holidays cost countries and their governments a lot of money. Wages need to be paid to employees despite their absence from work, and a national loss in productivity is experienced. For these reasons, some people suggest governments do away with holidays and instead spend the money on worthy projects. While this might seem at first to be a practical suggestion, I disagree strongly for a number of reasons.
Many people believe that a large proportion of a country’s health budget should be diverted from treatment to spending on health education and preventative measures. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give examples from personal experience where appropriate.
Modern medicine has evolved along two lines: prevention and cure. Many believe that too much emphasis is placed on the latter and that the balance of national health spending should shift to prevention. I am inclined to agree; however, my support is with the stipulation that an imbalance in the other direction should be avoided.
Some people believe teenagers should be required to do unpaid community work in their free time. This can benefit the teenagers and the community as well. Do you agree or disagree with this point of view? Share personal examples if applicable.
Volunteerism is the practice of providing service without monetary compensation. I argue that adolescents should be required to engage in volunteer community work in their free time. The advantages this arrangement brings to both teenagers and the communities they come from will be shown in this essay.
